Day 1

Airport Reception – Bogotá

Upon arrival at El Dorado International Airport (time to be confirmed), our team will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel. Your journey in Colombia begins here.

day 2

Bogotá City Tour + Salt Cathedral Tour

Approximate start time: 8:00 a.m.
Discover Bogotá and its surroundings on a full-day cultural and scenic tour. The experience includes:

Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral: A visit to Colombia’s First Wonder, an underground cathedral built within a former salt mine. Explore its majestic tunnels, the symbolic Stations of the Cross, and the massive central dome featuring a 15-meter-high cross. Includes a traditional Colombian lunch. Optional walking tour of Zipaquirá’s charming colonial town center and main square.

Monserrate Hill: One of Bogotá’s most iconic viewpoints, accessible by funicular or cable car (subject to availability). Enjoy panoramic city views from 3,150 meters above sea level, visit the hilltop monastery, browse artisan markets, and taste regional snacks and beverages. The guide will provide cultural and socioeconomic insights about Bogotá throughout the visit.

day 3

Bogotá Medellín

Transfer service (Hotel – El Dorado Airport, Bogotá): The group will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the airport. (Time to be confirmed).

Transfer service (JMC Airport – Hotel, Medellín): Upon arrival in Medellín, the group will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel. (Time to be confirmed).

day 4

Medellín City Tour

Approximate Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
Welcome to Medellín! Enjoy a rich, informative, and historical tour of the city. Your guide will share key insights and helpful tips along the way.

Highlights:

City Drive: Explore key avenues including Avenida La Playa, Avenida San Juan, and Avenida El Poblado (Milla de Oro).

El Poblado Neighborhood: A prestigious area known for its upscale homes, vibrant nightlife, and gastronomy. Pablo Escobar once lived in this neighborhood, adding to its historical intrigue.

Parque de la Inflexión: Built on the site of the demolished Mónaco building (Escobar’s former residence), this memorial honors victims of narco-violence.

Cerro Nutibara & Pueblito Paisa: Enjoy 360° panoramic views of Medellín from the city’s iconic viewpoint, featuring a replica colonial town and artisan shops. Includes a city introduction by the guide.

Botero Plaza: A brief stop at the open-air museum showcasing sculptures by world-renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero.

Pablo Escobar’s Final Hideout: External visit to the house where Escobar was killed, a significant moment in Colombia’s history.

Medellín’s Public Transit Tour: Ride the Metro and Metrocable to get a bird’s-eye view of one of the city’s comunas (hillside neighborhoods). Medellín was the first city in South America to implement cable cars as public transit.

Return to Hotel.

Day 5

Guatapé & El Peñol Rock Tour

Approximate Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
Duration: ~8 hours

Embark on a full-day adventure to one of the most breathtaking natural destinations near Medellín, the towns of El Peñol and Guatapé, home to the iconic El Peñol Rock (a 220-meter-tall monolith).

Tour Highlights:

El Peñol Town: Begin with a visit to this charming municipality.

El Peñol Rock (La Piedra del Peñol): Admire this impressive natural formation. Climbing to the top (via 700+ steps) offers panoramic views of the Guatapé Reservoir, a 2,262-hectare flooded area created for one of Colombia’s major hydroelectric plants.
(Note: Entry to the rock is not included in the tour price.)

Guatapé Reservoir Boat Ride: Enjoy a short scenic boat tour around the reservoir.

Guatapé Historic Center: Explore the colorful streets and admire the town’s unique “zócalos”, vibrant, hand-painted baseboards that decorate local homes and shops.

Day 6

Medellín → Cartagena

Private transfers: Hotel – Medellín Airport / Cartagena Airport – Hotel (Time TBD).

Explore the highlights of Cartagena, a colonial gem rich in history and culture:

Cartagena Convention Center: A key venue blending contemporary and colonial architecture, host to major Latin American events.

Clock Tower: Iconic entry point to the historic walled city.
Walled City Walking Tour: Discover Cartagena’s colonial center, originally fortified to protect against foreign invasions. Admire its architecture, history, and Spanish heritage.

La Popa Hill: Enjoy panoramic views from this hilltop site featuring a convent and church. (Monastery entry not included; visit subject to weather or road conditions.)

San Felipe Castle (Exterior visit): A grand Spanish fortress built to defend the city and protect elite colonial interests. (Entry not included.)

Return transfer to hotel.

day 7

Cartagena Bogotá

Private transfer from the hotel to Cartagena Airport (time to be confirmed). The group will be picked up and escorted to the airport for departure.
